I have some “Eye Candy Friday” for you. Yes, it is still Friday.

Bleeding Heart 4

I have been struggling with this blog. I wanted a knitting blog…somewhere where I could post my finished projects, mull over knitting bloopers, converse with my lovely, bloggy, knitterly friends. Also, I wanted to occasionally post my amateur photos of the things I find beautiful in life.

Bleeding Heart 2

What do you do with a knitting blog though, when you have no knitting mojo? It’s gone. Gone, gone, gone. My family life requires all of my attention these days. I’ve explained that my husband has been ill. After 10 months of symptoms, my husband has been diagnosed with stage 3B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. That’s cancer of the lymphatic system. On the one hand, he’s very, very ill. On the other hand, at least now we know what it is. Most importantly, people have been completely cured from it. That’s the outcome we’re hoping and praying for. This has actually been a seven year ordeal. My husband was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease at that time. (It took a year to diagnose that too). Did one disease lead to the other? Will we ever know?

This has been such an ordeal. I can’t tell you how loudly I’ve been screaming for help for this man. Now that he has been diagnosed with cancer, there are actually programs to access for help. A social worker has spoken with us!! I asked myself, “Where have you been for the past seven years?”. As dreadful as a Hodgkin’s Disease diagnosis is, there is treatment available and hope for a cure. There is no cure for Crohn’s Disease, and it’s a disease which is dramatically on the rise. Yet, there seems to be so little support out there.

I hope this will explain to those of you who visit my blog, why I haven’t been posting consistently. I still intend to keep blogging, but for the time being posts will be sporadic. Although my knitting mojo has suffered, I still seem to have purchasing power. I’ve ordered some things, and can’t wait until they arrive! There will be photos and updates. Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has emailed me, and sent their support, concern and prayers. I really can not thank you enough! My bloggy, knitterly friends, you’re the best.
